Oneness of Literature.

This blog is part of my online discussion.  In which we have to talk about the oneness of Literature.

This thing we also see in the Northrop Fry's essay on Archetypal criticism. He discuss things based on this idea. What is Archetypal criticism and how it's works. You can see my blog on that by click here.

In this We see that all Literature is somehow connected with each other.

Ex : 1.

And when we were children, staying at the Archduke's
My cousin's , he took me out on a sled,
And I was frightened. He said Marie,
Marie , hold on tight. And down we went.
In mountains, there you feel free.

This line is from T.S. Eliot's waste Land. This lines refers to intense sexual excitement. We see in this line that girls Marie feel Nostalgic. During this time we see that her cousin tell her to hold tight. Also it shows that the girl is not free because of her fear. When they go down she feels  fearless and ultimately she feeling free. So without her cousin she can't go down alone. So we can see the spiritual degradation and sexual perversion and lust in this lines.

The same thing We found  in the short story by Anton chekhov  joke. In that he also talk about the Same thing of mountain and girl' s feeling of Nostalgic.
Here I am puting the picture of story' s Gujarati translation.

Ex : 2.

When we talk about the oneness we found that in our myths. we also found the  similarities in Greek and Indian myth.

In Indian mythology there was a story that when the Bhishma was in death bad at that time yudhishthir asked him a question that who enjoys more physical relation at that time Bhishma tells him a story of Bhangashvana.  According to that story he born as a man and letter on by curse if Indra he became the women.

The same story we found in Greek Mythology  that once Zeus and Hera, king and queen of the Olympians wondered who derived more pleasure from physical relation. Soon after, a prophet Tiresias accidentally kills the female of a pair of copulating snakes and is cursed to become a woman.

So this way we found oneness even in our Mythology.

Ex : 3

Good night,
Ta ta Goodnight
Good night, good night ladies,
Good night sweet ladies,
Good night, Good night.

This lines is by the Lil when she and her friend are living pub that time they spoke.

The same kind of lines we found in the Shakespeare's play Hamlet. When Ophelia got mad after his Father's death at that time she also spoke in the same manner.

The poem Old Woman was written by Joseph John Campbell. He was an American my Mythologist, writer and lecturer. He was known for his work in comparative mythology and comparative religion. In this poem poet say about the old woman. He say that her old face express about all her life's journey. This poem have three stanza and each stanza has four line. The poem is a gem of simplicity. Poet has very finely praised the beauty of an old woman. It is very easy to see beauty in young woman but it need understanding and imagination to see the beauty of the old age. Here the poet skillfully represents her beauty by her comparing her with natural elements. In the first stanza poet compares the lady with a white candle. He says that white candle In a holy place gives a light. It gives the guidance to the person who comes in there life. As a white candle In a holy place. Her face is compared with white candle.
