Short story : How Much Land Does A Man Need ?

This short story is written by Leo -  Tolstoy.  The name of the main character in the story is Pakhom. 



Pakhom and his wife visited the elder sister. She was living the glomeruloirs life. Pakhom joins in, saying that with enough land he would have nothing to fear—including “the Devil himself. 

Pakhom has desied that he will have much land fir him self. There was a peasent who describe the story of Baskris. They gave Land to people. Pakhom leaves for the Baskris place. 

Baskris put a condition to him and say that hif he wants a land so he has to Walk. They say that how much he can walk in a day that much land he will get. But he has to return by the end if the day. 

Pakhom has accepted what they said. And next day started walking. When he was walking he became greedy. And he walk so much that he won't able to return. In order to complete his distance he walk so fast that he died. 

We see that Pakhom's greed leads him to death. Because of his greed he becomes the symbol of evil. 


Pakhom's journey : 

No lend - 40 Acre - peasent - Volga - 1300 - dealer - chif of Baskris become friend - walk for land - death. 


Title significe : 

We see that the title of the story is how much land does a man need. We see that at the end when Pakhom was able to get too much land but then he died. We see that though he has this much land he only need 6 feet Land for just to burry his dead body. So, in this way we see that man only needs 6 feet not much.

The poem When We Two Parted is written by Lord Byron. In this poem port talk about the time when he and his lover had Parted. He expressed his feeling of that time. In the first stanzas poet say that when we two Parted at that time there was only silence and tears between us.
