The Imagination by I. A. Richards.

I. A. Richards in full Ivory Armstrong Richards was English critic, poet, and Teacher who was highly influential in developing a new way of reading poetry that led to the new criticism and that also influenced some forms of reader-  response criticism.

There are six different and distinct sense of the word Imaginary and we need to look at each of them Separately.

  1.  Production of vivid images and too visual.
  2. Use if  figarative  language and the wholeness of experience along with it's variety.
  3. In the nerrover sense it is the sympathetic reproduction of other people state of mind, perticulary their emotional state.
  4. Innovativeness , that means bringing together element which are not oridnarily connected .
  5. Ordinary of experience in a relevant manner value consideration are unplayed which are conditional, it is for diffrinate purpose.
  6. The most important one is the synthetic & the magical powers to which the name Imagination is given.
It is about the revelling of balance 0r reconciliation of opposite and discordant quality. It has sence of novelty & sence of freshness with 1. Old and familiar object 2. More than usual state of emotion 3. More then usual order 4. It had power to delight.

It has power to modify a serious of thoughts by one predominant thought or feeling.  Thinking in to conduction coldrige he considers poetic as essential among all other veluable characteristics.  Poet is poet because of three quality. 1. The availability of his or her experience. 2. Width of the field of simulation. 3. Complatiness if unice response.

All the implies modified beautifully to the poet for ex: underent of happiness. Some create experience from experience. Selection of topic by poet is out of box. Which is extremely different from what we habbitually do. Everything that poet sees has different perspective to it.

Tragedy and Imagination :

There are two emotions in tragedy primarily peaty and terror. Combination of peaty and terror lead us to  Catharsis through which we recognise tragedy. Suppression is important for a waiting science in order to interpret literature.

It is all about weather tragedy can sustain the power of tragic. The essence of tragedy is that Force US to leave for a moment without personal emotions. A very great deal of poetry and art is connect with organisation which developed of comparatively special and limited experience with emotions.

Structurally in terms of experience break break break and or to Nightingale both  this poetry are different not because of subject but difference is ine relation of several impulses.  In the first poem the set of impulses run parallel whereas in the second poem it is extraordinary heterogeneity of distant visual element.

The equally opposite of impulse which we suspect to be a ground of most valuable aesthetic is poetry.  It brings out more fact of the personality than to any one can define emotion. One has to see all round in imagination some interest is required but not unidimensional interest. The more you are impersonal the more you are completely involved. consciousness arising in this moment lead us to transcendental discseparation the determination there for is use of language .
